Meal Prepping Tips to Get Started

Meal Prep is DONE! If you didn’t see the Live Instagram video on my 5 steps for getting started with meal prep, fear not! Here they are! 1.PLAN YOUR MEALS This is important because it will dictate the following steps. 2. WRITE DOWN YOUR GROCERY LIST Write down and make a list based on the meals you just planned. 3. SHOP FOR ONLY THOSE INGREDIENTS When I am writing my grocery list, next to each item I put initials for which store I am going to buy them from. Although I could probably get everything from one store, I have been around the block and know where i can find high quality foods at good prices. The there places we normally hit are Whole Foods, Trader Joes, and Costco. 4. DON’T SHOP HUNGRY When you go shopping when you are hungry you open yourself up to many things. From brain fog to impulse buying you can save yourself a lot of trouble by making sure you are satisfied before you start shopping. 5. HAVE YOUR CONTAINERS ON HAND We have three types of containers that we use for our meal prep as well as about 3 different size baggies. Having theses on hand makes portioning everything go quickly and handy for when you need to grab and go.
